On August 14, we competed in Plywood People's problem solving competition!

This is how they describe the competition:

Each year we hold the Idea competition leading up to, and during, Plywood Presents. Five finalists are selected from the pool of applicants and then allowed to present their idea, with a five minute limit, to a panel of judges and the audience of 500+ attendees at Plywood Presents. It is an incredible way to share ideas, and for three finalists to further their projects as they will receive funding through monetary awards, as well valuable development services like PR and accounting consulting.

The selection criteria that the panel used to select the top three winners included the following questions:

1. How was their presentation?

2. Is this a problem that needs to be solved?

3. Is this an innovative idea?

4. Do we believe this person can make their idea happen with the funding?

5. If we gave them $5,000, what idea to we think would be able to use the award the most, and make the largest impact?
